Arlington, WA, starts to dress up their streets for the autumn season early, with scarecrows and seasonal window displays in front of many of the local businesses. Come shop the great antique stores and unique boutiques along main street, and enjoy the fall creativity of the Arlington, WA business owners and school children.

Travelers from all across the state and Canada, stop by to spend a sunny afternoon getting lost in the "Corn Maze", a marvelous annual tradition grown on the western side of Arlington, where SR 530 passes across the "cow pastures" to meet Interstate 5. Yes, the corn maze is outstanding, but the people involved truly make it worth the drive to experience.

Intense fall colors arrive early to the leaves of the maples and cottonwoods along SR 530, so the world-famous scenic drive to Darrington is filled with many brilliant scenes of the valley, as you drive along the North Fork of the Stilly on your way to an afternoon in Darrington, WA.

Darrington, WA, begins rehearsal for their annual Charity Haunted House, usually held in the old City Hall, (basement, in fact!) and the costumes and sets come entirely from the volunteer high school students - with the help of their younger siblings, and parents, of course.

The homes of Darrington show their anticipation for Halloween with some of the most inventive and over-the-top Hallween decorations. Come up any evening prior to Halloween, and you'll see entire porches and driveways adorned with orange jack-o-lanterns, and numerous mini-lights atop fences or across railings and window panes. All ages of school children, K - 12, work to perfect their make-up and costumes for weeks in advance, to reward the homeowner's enthusiastic All Hallow's Eve preparations.

There's marvelous colors to see, and true "down home"generousity to experience, during the Halloween Autumnal season in Arlington, and Darrington, WA. We look forward to meeting you during your Fall visit.
