Fall Comes to White Horse - Puzzle
We lived in Darrington, WA, near the base of White Horse Mountain in the North Fork of the Stilly Valley for many years. Colder weather arrives earlier in Darrington than down below, bringing chill evenings when it's still mild just a few miles away in Everett. The fall leaves in gold, pink, and reds are especially brilliant against the shaded north side of the mountain.
The lower night temperatures and frequent frosts in the early weeks of September and October brought out the leave's hidden fall colors usually missed in the landscapes down below. The foothills around Darrington are usually ablaze with colors worthy of a postcard!
